Saddlers
Brasses By Ran Hawthorne- A
Publication from the National Horse Brass Society in England. Published
in 1993. This book has 48 pages. This is
a wonderful book on saddlers horse brasses. The purpose
to having the name and location put on a brass was to identify the maker
and to act as a constant reminder to one and all of the name
and maker. Saddler brasses are lovely. Peak production
of saddlers brasses was around the
1880's. Saddler Makers would put their name and town
or county on just about any brass
harness decoration piece. They were very proud of
their pieces. Contents is as following: Face
pieces, Nose bands, Rosettes, Swingers, Hameplates,
Collar top decorations, Tug loops, Rein hangers, Studs, Award studs, Saddlers
brasses with Engine Motif, Welsh saddler sand Scottish saddlers.
